It's All About Community!

When we come together to end hunger for our neighbors, we build stronger communities for all of us. What better time to step up for your community than Hunger Action Month? If 5-year-old Grace (at left) can do it, you can too! In this month's Table Talk, read about actions being taken across the region by local doctors' offices, businesses, schools and families, and find out how neighbors of all ages can show your community pride.

The Power of Partnership:
Screenings Find More Families

At Children's Healthcare (CHC) pediatrics offices, families who were once slipping through the holes of our food safety net are now getting the help they need.
This summer, ONT held trainings with CHC staff in Newburyport and Haverhill, where every family is given an assessment to measure their ability to afford enough food. Families struggling to keep their kids full are referred to ONT where they can access our markets and SNAP support.
The partnership is paying off. Through August, ONT distributed more than 5,500 pounds of food to families referred by CHC in 2025.

• Ask your school to join elementary schools in Newburyport, Salisbury and Newbury and start a Dollar Drive! It's a great opportunity for kids to learn about food insecurity and help neighbors along the way. E-mail [email protected] to learn more.
• Host a Friend Campaign by making ONT a beneficiary of your event, whether it's a music concert, a party or even a lemonade stand.
• Join our Breakfast Club and become a recurring donor to sustain our work year-round.
